"Present and Future Fans" Layout

Sometimes I have to make myself get away from all the flowers and girly layouts. They just come easy for me. My son always comments about putting flowers on the boy's layouts. For awhile I could use the excuse... "Their babies!" But now that they are four I guess I need to do more masculine looking layouts huh?

OK so the layout above has a flower on it. But hey - it's a manly flower. ;-) And I did put gears on it. It's a layout of when my son took the boys to see their first Chicago Cubs baseball game. Jessie has always been a fan of the Cubs, ever since Little League when his team was the Cubs. I think he just liked the uniforms.

Anyway - I used papers from Bo Bunny's Timepiece Collections. I hope you like it!

"Family" Layout

Here is a fun, simple layout that we will be doing in the next scrapbooking class. It features an older line of paper from Kaisercraft - the Chapter One Collection. But the colors are still so trendy! I love the teals, light blues and blacks. It's a very easy line to work with.

The photo is of (L-R) me, my brother Michael, my mom Stella and my sister, Terri. It was taken at my brother's wedding. It's one of the few photos of the four of us.

Well - I hope you like the photo and the layout! ...til next time...

"November 2005" Layout

Well as you can see I am still going through some old paper lines. These are papers from TPC Studio's Grandma's Attic Collection. (Yea I know - way back to 2010!) :-) The photos go back even further to 2005. This happened to be my mom's last Thanksgiving here on earth and it was also one that was great! Lots of family, food and fun times. My mom loved to cook for us, especially during the holidays.
The bottom flower is handmade. I actually made it a while back but it was the perfect colors for this layout.
  1. Using a medium five petal punch, punch one flower out of light colored cardstock and another one out of a darker coordinating paper.
  2. Using a small five petal punch, punch one flower out of the same dark paper.
  3. The tiny flowers on the dark medium flower's petals were made by using one of my border punches. Flip the punch over and look at the bottom - slip the petal into the punch, line up to where you want the tiny petal to fall and punch!
  4. I then glued the two medium flowers together so that it looks like one flower.
  5. Layer the "two" flowers, off-setting the petals and add a brad.
  6. Paint the petals with your favorite stickles to add glimmer.
  7. When dry, add tiny gems to the punched flowers on the petals.
Happy Scrapping!

"Fun Times" Layout

Have you ever looked through your paper stash and thought "when did I buy that paper?". Well I did that today and knew I had to start using some of my older paper before I bought any of the new lines coming out... right? Ok - I have good intentions.

I made this LO with some older paper from DCWV - I think it came in one of those 12x12 paper packs. I like the orangey brown as it seems to go with all the browns out here in West Texas. ;-)

The picture is of my twin grandsons riding their "tractor". They live out of state and get to come stay at nannie's and papa's house two weeks every year. This year their visit was in Febuary. One of their favorite pastimes is riding their tractor. Hope you like it!
The "photo mat" effect I did with the photo was done using Photoshop Elements. Here is a link to the tutorial:

Have fun!

Sun Kissed

This layout was inspired by Angelica, using Prima's Almanac Collection. And we will be creating this LO in our next class on Saturday July 21st! I love this collection as it has soft colors and looks beautiful with the black accents.

I hope you like the layout! And if your in the Midland/Odessa area - come join us in class!

Standing Still

Here is a layout I made with the "For All Time Kit". It is of my son with his Rodeo. The gears from Tim Holtz's idea-ology collection works great with these papers.

For love is of God...

Here is a layout I made of my son and twin grandsons. The picture is a couple years old, but it has always been a favorite of mine and just begged to be scrapped. :-)

Live, Laugh, Love

Here is a LO I did of my daughter. It took me forever to pick out the right shades of blue! Sometimes I can pull papers for the LO and instantly think "that's it"... other times I change my mind over and over. LOL

The photo was taken by my very talented daughter-in-law Kristen, who is a photographer.
